A Journey of Learning and Growth at Daxap

In this edition of "Diversity at Daxap," we have handed the floor to our own QAM Manager, Ismail Kaya. Ismail shares his story from when he arrived in Norway in 2018, and how beginning a new career in a new country has shaped his journey in Norway.

When I arrived in Norway in 2018, I was filled with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. Starting a completely new life in a foreign country was not easy. Being far from the language, culture, and everything familiar could sometimes feel overwhelming. Nevertheless, I was determined to make the most of this new beginning.

I decided to pursue my interest in data analysis and began taking courses to develop my skills. During this period, while searching for opportunities to gain practical experience in data analysis, I met Kubilay, the founder of Daxap. He gave me the chance to work at the company, and I had the opportunity to analyze data in the Kiddy application. The thought of contributing to a real project was incredibly motivating.

While working on the project, I discovered a growing interest in ensuring software quality and reliability. This led me to transition into a Quality Assurance (QA) role, which I felt suited me better. I took specialized courses in QA, and after completing them, I continued my internship as a QA specialist on the well-known Kiddy project. This transition became a crucial turning point for me. Getting to work on a real project right after finishing my education allowed me to apply what I had learned in practice.

Daxap provided me with a fantastic opportunity for professional development. Even though I had limited experience in QA, I was continuously given opportunities to learn. The company’s open culture and strong focus on growth ensured that I had access to all the necessary resources. As someone who loves continuous learning and self-improvement, this environment was invaluable.

As Daxap grew and more members joined the QA team, I had the opportunity to share my experiences from when I was the only QA specialist. This became a unique source of motivation for me. Together, we worked hard to elevate QA processes to a higher level. Being involved in leading the team and contributing to their development was both exciting and rewarding.

In addition to my QA role, an opportunity arose for me to develop as a Scrum Master. I am now actively working to qualify for this role and am a Scrum Master candidate. One of my goals is to complete the necessary technical training for this position and contribute to projects both as a QA and Scrum Master. In this way, I hope to influence the success of our projects from a broader perspective.

The diverse perspectives and rich diversity within our team have enriched me both professionally and personally. I look forward to continuing to contribute to Daxap’s success and supporting others in realizing their potential.
